1. She was born Bukola Kermode 1982, September 17 in France to Nigerian parents. She was raised in a small town close to Lagos, Nigeria and is the only daughter amongst four children.

3. Asa met her current manager and close friend Janet in 2004. She introduced Asa to Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo, who became her producer and musical partner.
4. Her songs "Eya Adaba" and Jailer were both released in 2009, they went on to do well appearing on several radio charts in Nigeria.
5. Bukola signed a record deal with Naïve Records where she later released her debut album "Asa" which won her a prestigious French Constantin Award in 2008.
