Sola Sobowale biography:The screenwriter, director, producer and actress who is also known as Toyin Tomato has been in the industry for decades. Sola born on December 26, 1965 in Ondo State. Born to Esther and Joseph Olagokun.
Sola's father was a retired principal and her mother a former headmistress. After her primary and secondary education, she gained admission to study Music in the University of Ibadan. She later
switched to Theatre Arts due to her love for music.
She is married to Oludotun Sobowale, Oludotun was the former corporate executive director of EKO Hospital, before he relocated to England. Their union is blessed with five children.Most of them are not in the public eye except for her twin daughters,Taiwo and Kehinde Sobowale.

The actress got into the industry with the help of her brother-in-law, Tunji Oyelana who got her into her first role, Sura the tailor. Oyelana was a lecturer, singer and actor. Her parents were against her acting at first but he was able to convince them to see acting as a noble profession and not a wayward lifestyle as the media may have portrayed. Luckily for her based on his relationship with the family, her parents agreed and her career began.
Her first role being Sura the Tailor and subsequently followed with roles in Village Headmaster, Mirror in the Sun, Our Husband have gone mad again among others. She later went on to join a group led by Adebayo Salami. The Awada Kerikeri Group. She also featured in movies like Asewo to re Mecca and a celluliod.
Her popular nickname Toyin Tomato came after she starred in Father! Oh Daughter! A Wale Adenuga's Super story drama series. Her aura brought to the series still causes several people to refer to her as Toyin Tomato till date.
Sola was however not consistent in the industry as a result of her stay in England but came back full force in 2016 after leaving so she could give her children good education. She returned with full force, she first took the role of Tinuade Coker in the popular romantic comedy drama, Wedding party in which she was also a co-director in the movie with Kemi Adetiba and Adesua Etomi. The star studded movie featuring Banky W, Adesua Etomi, AY Makun, Iretiola Doyle, Richard Mofe Damijo and other A-list actors.
She also starred as Alhaja Eniola Salami in a political thriller film, "King of boys" which she also co-produced with Kemi Adetiba. The movie won awards and featured stars like Veteran Jide Kosoko, Adesua Etomi, Akin Lewis, Illbliss, Reminisce and Toni Tones among others. Sola has over 70 films (Yoruba and English) to her credit.
Sola Sobowale is one of the most sought after actresses in Nigeria and has bagged several Endorsement deals. Sola is an ambassador for Mouka Foams, BSTAN homes and others. She was also endorsed by Globacom and represents the company alongside Patience Ozokwor, Boda Shaggi and Jide Kosoko.
