Mercy was born in Lagos state, to a former Naval officer is the fourth child in a family of seven. The actress hails from Kogi state.
She started her primary education in Calabar, her father being a naval officer was transferred from Lagos state where the actress was born she also had her education at a Navy Primary school. She attended a secondary school in Rivers state in addition to a Navy secondary school she attended in
Port Harcourt.
Shortly after her secondary education, she audition for a role in a movie titled "The Maid" which she acted in. She continued her acting career with movies like Hustlers, Dumebi which she won an award for best actress, Baby Oku in America among other movies.
In 2011 Mercy got married to her husband, Prince Odianosen Okoji and the pair have three children, Mercy is now pregnant with the fourth. The actress doubles as a business woman, she also has a personal Kitchen talk show which is doing well.
