Australian Nine News journalists Amber Sherlock and Julie Snook were caught off guard as they had a little fall out off air over what they were wearing. The two popular on air personalities who have a flair for fashion had both worn white shirts. And the ladies were not having it,one has to back down! But who? This led to them both demanding that the other put on a jacket.
The situation unfolded behind the scenes of Nine's afternoon bulletin on Wednesday.
In footage leaked to media industry publication Mumbrella, host Amber waits during an ad break
with two guests: sports reporter Snook and psychologist Sandy Rea.
As Snook studies her notes, AS begins: "I need Julie to put a jacket on, because we're all in white. I asked her before we came on. you need to put a jacket on."
JS: "I'm flat out, I haven't had time."
Sherlock hits back: "Come on, I told you. I told you two hours ago."
The terse exchange continues as Rae - also in white - grimaces for several seconds, then offers to get a jacket herself. However, AS says she's "fine".
JS again says she's been "flat out", and AS whips out her phone to call the Wardrobe department.
The exchange slowly fills with passive aggression, until JS suggests she should leave instead of getting changed.
"If there's an issue I can just head on out and get back to work," JS says, later repeating: "I'll just jump on out, honestly."
AS responds: "Fine, jump on out if that's what you'd like to do."
Shortly after, a producer manages to find a jacket. The screen briefly goes black, and JS reappears - now wearing a black blazer and adjusting her lapel microphone.
Around 15 seconds later, the show is back on air, and the Chat Room segment begins.
The rapid wardrobe change made for strange viewing on the afternoon bulletin.
At 3.43pm, AS mentions the segment directly before an ad break. She introduces JS - who is wearing her white shirt - and urges viewers to stick around.
Three minutes later, when the show returns, JS is featuring the black jacket.
Despite AS emphatic suggestion for her colleague get changed, there seemed to be no issue in a different segment, 15 minutes earlier. AS spoke for several minutes to showbiz reporter Briana Domjen, who was wearing bright white overalls.
In a statement to Nine's lifestyle website Honey on Thursday, Sherlock said she "probably overreacted".
"Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times," she said.
"As anyone knows, it's never much fun rocking up to work or to a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends. I probably overreacted with the pressure of presenting a live news bulletin."
For her part, Snook seemed to hold no grudges over the incident, joking the pair "just really love white".
"Amber and I are good friends and I really enjoy working with her," Snook said. "News is a fast-moving environment and sometimes these things happen."
