A lot of citizens had threatened before the elections to leave the US if Trump was ever elected and it seems now that he has, many are taking that promise seriously."How to immigrate to Canada"(sic) in particular shocked me,cos that seems like the easiest path for an American. They are very close by,sound more or less the same and it will not be a culture shock if they were to make that move. This
shows to me that these people are really serious.
But surely that would be making life too easy for Trump won't it?Would it not be better to stay and put pressure on him and his reforms? If those who have a voice and can stand up to fight leaves, what then happens?Already there are cries for a Donald Trump impeachment.Bear in mind this man has not even been in power for a day yet.
I wonder how the Canada immigration department would feel with all this new attention. Are they ready for an influx of Americans due to the US election result?
For those really serious about moving, here are some of the requirements and ways to go about it.
1. Express Entry program – Skilled workers with at least 12 months of full-time work may apply for Express Entry. Eligibility must first be determined– those seeking Express Entry must fall into one of the following categories: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, Canadian Experience Class, a portion of the Provincial Nominee Programs. By completing the CanadaVisa assessment form, you can determine if you are eligible for Express Entry. Access the form here.
Also if you have immediate family members already based in Canada,it makes life much easier for you.
As with most countries in the world, you can also claim political asylum, but this is not always an easy process.
So there you have it,the population of one country may be reducing drastically sooon, while that of it's neighbour may see a dramatic rise,is this going to happen?Time will tell...
