I am not sure if this is a good move for Iyanya,how can you go from label owner and go sign
under another label as an artist?I guess he got desperate,he hasn't had a big hit in a while and he probably thinks Don Jazzy is a guarantee for that.Well,he could be right,but time will tell.
He is now a part of the Mavin family joining Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Di’Ja, D’Prince, and Dr. Sid. They also have two in-house producers, Baby Fresh and Altims. Writing on his Instagram page, Don Jazzy says “The SUPREME MAVIN DYNASTY is pleased to welcome Iyanya to the ever growing Mavin Family. The deal which has been sealed, signals a new turn for the singer who has spent the past 6 years running his record label, in partnership with his manager and partner, Ubi Franklin. Iyanya, until his decision to quit, was a co-owner of MMMG, an outfit he runs with his manager and friend, Ubi Franklin.
There was controversy a while ago when Iyanya said he planned to float his own label,but he said there was no beef as he and Ubi had talked about this a loong time ago and he understood his moves and motives.
So what has happened between him floating his own label then and now?For him to decide to now join Mavin?Hmmmmm....
