33 year old Vanessa Bryant was born in Santa Ana , California to Sofia Urbieta, and has a sister, Sophie, who is ten years older. Her father and mother are of Mexican descent . Sophie and Vanessa's parents divorced when Vanessa was three years old. Sofia raised her daughters alone in Orange County while attending two jobs. In 1990, she married Stephen Laine.
Vanessa and her family lived in Anaheim and Temecula before moving to West Garden Grove. Vanessa graduated from St. Boniface Parochial School in 1996. Vanessa was a member of student council and the varsity cheerleading squad.
Vanessa attended Marina High School using her ex-stepfather’s dad’s home address. Vanessa met Kobe Bryant in November 1999. Their relationshi p continued while Vanessa was still a senior at Marina High School. She completed high school vi a home program due to the pandemonium with her dating Kobe Bryant. She graduated with honors Template:CNin 2000 and graduated with her class.
On April 18, 2001, 23-year-old Kobe and 19-year-old Vanessa were married at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, in Dana Point, California. Kobe’s parents were not on the list of guests invited to attend the wedding. She gave birth to the couple's first daughter, Natalia Diamante Bryant, on January 19, 2003 in Los Angeles, weighing 6 lbs 14 oz. After Natalia was born, Kobe and his parents reconciled at Vanessa’s request. In April 2005, Vanessa suffered a miscarriage due to an ectopic pregnancy. Their second daughter, Gianna Maria-Onor’e, was born May 1, 2006, and weight 6 lbs 7 oz.i
