Nzobu Nzobu Eyimba Eyin! Congratulations to Enyimba FC for winning the Nigerian premier league.
Enyimba International have emerged as champions of the Nigeria Premier League for the 7th time after they secured the needed point in their 0-0 draw against hitherto title contenders, Warri Wolves.
Sad thing for me though is seeing how densely populated the stadium was for this match. Our local league is completely dead to what it used to be.All thanks to the foreign
football and likes of English Premier league and La Liga that has taken over. When i was a kid,the Nigerian football local leagues games was always sold out,a match that had significance like this would have been sold out hours before the game started.

I remember sitting in the sun for matches featuring my favourite team then the IICC Shooting stars of Ibadan,3 hours before the game was due to start, with the stadium completely jam packed! Teams like Ranger Fc of Enugu,Bendel Insurance of Benin,Raccah Rovers of Kano,Stationery Stores of Lagos all drew thousands of fans to the stadiums all over the country. Will we ever get those days again in Nigeria football? I believe so.Just like our local music has taken over,i believe one day our local teams will rise again.
Now back to the Enyimba match, the game was played on Sunday evening at the Aba International stadium home of Enyimba.
The best away form of the season – five wins and seven draws – earned the two-time African champions Enyimba the league title five years after their last conquest.
