Diezani Alison Madueke ARRESTED in London by UK Crime Agency !

This news does not come as a shock to me at all. I always suspected Alison Madueke was going down! It was more a matetr of when and not if.So many things pointed to the fact that this lady could be going down in the corruption clampdown by President Buhari.

Diezani Alison-Madueke,was the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources in Nigeria,Madueke  was on Friday arrested in London.

The former minister, who was one of the most powerful officials of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, was arrested this morning alongside four other people by the UK National Crime Agency.

According to reports, Madueke was arrested for offences related to bribery and corruption
being investigated by the UK National Crime Agency.

Earlier in the day,Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday carried out a search of the Asokoro, Abuja, residence of Diezani Alison-Madueke as part of a multinational investigation of the former minister of petroleum resources. The former minister was arrested in London, UK, on Friday by the newly formed International Corruption Unit of the country’s National Crimes Agency.

This shows Nigeria is not messing about at all in this corruption fight.We have a newly formed  International Corruption Unit? Wow! Where did that come from?

 Anyway,The National crime agency announced on its website on Friday that it had arrested five people “across London” as part of an investigation into suspected bribery and money laundering offences but stopped short of naming the suspects.Nigerian publication, TheCable understands that the operations are being coordinated with several international agencies because of the “sensitive” nature of the investigation. EFCC made “significant recovery” of documents at the Abuja of the former minister, TheCable was informed by a senior security source. “The raid on Alison's Asokoro residence today (Friday) yielded vital information that will help in the prosecution of the case,” the source said. “Many agencies across several countries are involved in this investigation.

 Anti-money laundering agencies in Austria, France, Switzerland, Nigeria and UK are working together on it.

There had been rumours in the past of Alison Madueke panicking and might not return to the country,but i guess they did not bargain with Buhari's link and co operative efforts of the international community to help rid Nigeria of corruption.

Now just imagine how many other corrupt ex Nigerian public officials are shaking in their boots as of today? Who will be the next to join Diezani?
