I was amazed to see Shirley Bassey criticizing female stars of today for their outfits.Shirley Bassey had said-“It’s like they’re all in competition with each other for who can wear the skimpiest outfit."Yes admittedly,the likes of Beyonce,Rihanna and Lady Gaga push the envelope and go over the top! But Shirley Bassey was worse,she wore all those outfits too and revealed way too much in her time as a young performer.I say she was worse because things she wore was 40 yrs ago or there abouts..So you can imagine the shock those outfits must have generated then.Some of the outfits Shirley Bassey wore in those days are almost on par with what these female stars of today wear now 40 years later!Now see and compare Shirley Bassey's outfits with todays stars,bear in mind hers was 40-50 yrs ago! In fact the outfits the female stars of today wear is so similar to Shirley Bassey's that i think they were copying her,and you will see with these pictures on display.
Now,should we say its down to jealousy that Shirley can't wear these outfits no more is the reason for her outbursts or is it a forgetful memory due to old age?When I saw the Met Ball, excuse me, when I saw Rihanna’s met gown,I think you have to leave some things to the imagination.
Yes, my gowns were sexy, with a cut-out and a slit here, but I didn’t show everything, Bassey commented..i will let you be the judge when you see what Shirley was throwing around in her days from these pictures.Rihanna's met gown was no way worse than what Shirley Bassey wore in these pictures.

Why is it that when female artists in particular get older they criticize the younger generation?I have seen it happen time and time again.It must be a female thing.When you see the outfits Shirley Bassey wore in her time,you will agree it was very hypocritical of her to criticize the female stars of today.

So when you see all these outfits put together,you have to admit that Shirley Bassey probably set these girls on the way to what they are today.The outfits are almost the same 50 years later.It's obvious that as the years get older,the new generation will push it a bit further,but when you consider Miss Bassey was wearing these riaque outfits 50 years ago,she is in no position to criticize Rihanna,Beyonce or whoever,she had her own time,now leave this girls alone and let them have their own time!
