Kaduna state governor elect, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai paid a visit to the dilapidated Arewa Textile Industry in Kaduna earlier today.
The Oil boom has indeed been a curse to Nigeria.We abandoned all the wonderful industries and things we had bringing in money and creating employment before the oil boom.Ttextiles,Mining,farming,The groundnut in the north,cocoa in the south west..and so many other things.Lets hope one day they can all be returned and held at the importance it deserves.
Textile and many of these things i mentioned, used to be one of Nigeria's highest sources of foreign exchange.More pics after the cut
