This is now becoming a joke ,this newly found charity handouts schemes,by our politicians simply trying to show they are doing good for the people.Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose extended his Stomach Infrastructure programme to the police officers in his state yesterday. This is a continuance from Fayose,earlier distributing rice and chicken to Ekiti citizens on the streets.
This action will have no effect whatsoever on the lives of the citizens or Police officers like i
keep saying.
And we wonder why our Police take bribes,when the handing out of a chicken is suppossed to be the highlights of the year for them.Making them queue up in the sun as if they are about to be afforded National honours.These are the man and women who are supposed to be ready to die for Nigeria.Would you if treated like this?
If they were oing to be given chicken at all,to mark the christmas spirit or whatever,it should be done in a dignified manner.There need not be fanfare,lined up publicly with cameras rolling,this shows that it's all a stunt to give a mirage that the government is working! Only a fool should be fooled by this!
The only way this will be beneficial is if it is ongoing,why give me a loaf of bread one day in a year? What's gonna happen to me the rest of the 364 days?
What the people need is a programme that will generate food and jobs for them so they won't have to lose their dignity lining up for food hand outs on the streets!
The same thing was done by the politicians during election campaigns,dishing out ground nut oil,Rice,Salt,etc.I think it is disgraceful and shows these men have no idea how to solve the problems at hand.
This is just cheap publicity in my opinion.Now if they make this a weekly process,for years,i will be impressed!
