Ugandan star,Desire Apologizes to fans and her family!

Desire Luzinda,has come out to apologize and accept that the n*de pictures and video images were indeed her,after initially denying so,claiming it was her haters trying to bring her down..Some people are hard on Luzinda,saying she lied.But what do you expect?The poor girl had been betrayed by someone she trusted and could see her whole life and career that she had
worked hard for going down the drain!It was normal to deny at first,we all go into denial when things bigger than we can handle happen to us.But she has come out to retract and apologize.Desire Luzinda should not be on trial here.The person who exposed this pics should be on trial.These pics/images were in the privacy of her home.I hope common sense is shown here ,cos African authorities have some stupid laws they try to impose. 

Last Friday the Ugandan social media was awash with 
images of local musician Desire Luzinda purportedly published by her lover. 

Her Nigerian lover Franklin, says he was penalising Luzinda over her alleged “unfaithfulness.”

The mother of one is not known to be married but has since been associated with a string of men in Kampala.

Luzinda’s known telephone lines remain off, making efforts to secure a comment from her futile.

Ugandans have since stood behind Luzinda, condemning Franklin’s betrayal.

Ugandans on social media said Luzinda should not be blamed for the leakage as she was “madly in love” with Franklin.

But conservatives contend Luzinda’s actions do not boost the status of “African women” and that had she avoided taking nude photos, the country would have been spared of this drama.

The images and video clips, which contravene the laws of Uganda, went viral on various social media networks and also got the attention of ethic minister Simon Lokodo who said a thorough investigation would be conducted.

Luzinda, who had since maintained her silence,has brok it by denying that she is the one and later retracted it asking for forgiveness.

The ‘Equalizer’ star Luzinda, had insisted that the woman in the pictures was not her as many tabloids had reported. She went on to say that it was the ‘haters’ trying to put her down but they would not be successful as she is better than that.

Desire, took to Facebook to deny being the woman in the pictures that have caused a lot of hype on social and print media. Desire explained that her skin was lighter than the woman’s in the picture and that her signature tatoo would have shown in that posture.

“When haters tried so hard to put down my concert with all sorts of terrible stories, I slapped them in the face with a very successful concert. Now that I am a hot cake and the HEAT is killing them, they have come up with a false n*de pic,” Desire fumed.

“My dear haters, I am a born blessed winner and you can’t put me down. My skin is slightly lighter than that, my nose pin and tatoo would be showing in that posture and u should have at least put my face on that fake picture to make it look like me, how the hell did you forget that?”

While most of her fans sympathized with her at this attempt to tarnish her name and image, some insisted she was the one in the picture, since several celebrities like Zari, Lukoma, Nambi Brenda and Judith Heard have engaged in n*de pics.

Below is the Apology letter verbatim that Desire Luzinda recently released.

To all my fans in Uganda and all over the world, as you might be aware, there has been a lot of fanfare and discussion in the media and social media about my photos taken in private that were leaked to the public by a jilted lover.

The facts about this matter are that these were photos taken in privacy with someone I loved. In our private moments, we all have our “moments of madness”. The bottom line is that I trusted this person and never hoped that something done in private would find its way to the public domain irrespective of our differences.

I am aware that for many people who looked up to me as a role model, to the fans who adore my music , to the young generation that looks up to artistes like me as a symbol of the importance of grooming and growing talent, these photos must have been an upset.

I want to sincerely apologise to my mother, to my daughter, to my family, to my friends, my fans and any other people who have been offended by these images. Like I said, this was a breach of trust by someone I loved. I take full responsibility for having lost my mind to take such shameful pics. This person has not only abused that trust but now seeks to drag me down.

Those who have interacted closely with me know I am a decent person, a doting mother and an industrious woman. These images in no way should define who I am.

Let me also thank my numerous fans who have stood by me in this period—asking me to be firm amidst the tempest.
Just to let you know, the responsible authorities are doing everything possible to ensure I get justice. Once again, accept my sincere apologies.
