I am also gonna talk about the hypocrisy of Nollywood actor Jim Iyke.Last week or so,i read an
article about Jim Iyke joining a political party.the newly registered Young Democratic Party and he was made its Director General in the Diaspora.
Speaking on the aims of the party and Jim Iyke himself's view about leadership in Nigeria and Africa, the actor said:
“We just want to say enough is enough. It is time power and our policies shift hands to fresher minds, to stronger fortes, to people that are ready to move with the momentum of time, tide and changes. But it cannot be conceivable if you are saddled in that position for over two decades? How can you grow? How can you go with the tide of time? Biologically too, time will catch up with you because you are growing old in that position.(continue)….
“Look at advanced countries of the world, and take a close look at people that have moved forward, these are people who have put things in place so that changes will be constant. Refreshment of minds, ideas, psychology, idiosyncrasies will be constant except for Nigeria.
“The same circle of people that governed us 20 years ago are the same people who are still ruling us, what are they still doing there? So many of them are in their 80s, grandfathers by all rights! Are they not tired? Suffering and smiling has become our motto, our slogan”,
“There are black men of strong background and strong voice abroad. We have them everywhere. There is a rippling effect, that whatsoever resonates here touches the whole world. This is the strongest economy, the most populous black nation in the world. You cannot say that what we are doing concerns Nigerians alone. It concerns Africa, in the weight of what we are doing, we are carrying everybody along.

“We are not saying that this is a revolution or we are here to manipulate anybody, no. It is an open and closed book. This change may not happen in this era but it is a right step in the right direction at least there is a voice which hitherto was none existence. There is a platform where you can air your grievances. It is a truthful and open platform.”
Now,i must admit when i read this ,i was sold.I thought yep, people like Jim Iyke with their influence, their voice and connection with young Africans are what we need to put a stop to this tide.
So imagine my surprise ,when i saw the same Jim Iyke, sitting and feeling very important ,with the President of Gambia,Yahya Jammeh, who wait for it,was CELEBRATING 20 YEARS IN POWER! Can you see the incredible hypocrisy?Jim Iyke was feeling so good about hanging with the President of Gambia, sitting next to him and taking pictures. He even posted the picture on his Instagram and twitter pages.Jim Iyke,i'm sorry As much as i like you, your actions and hypocrisy made me sick!
You are no better than these people you were complaining about, cos if they gave you a contract or do you some favours, you will be singing their praises. How can you justify criticizing Nigerian rulers for being in power for 20 years and you go to another country and sing praises of another man who has been in power for 20 years and does not even look like leaving anytime soon?
This is the problem with us Africans. We are too greedy and are the biggest hypocrites. We all have our prices and when it is paid ,we turn the other cheek.
I'm afraid for me personally,Jim Iyke has lost any credibility he might have been trying to build. He has shown that all he is interested in is fame, his own pocket and to be seen with those in powers,no matter how they have gotten there.
Funny thing is,every single publication i have seen today carrying this news, have all got the same story,Jim Iyke big boy, hanging with the Gambian President, blah blah blah..This is quite sad..we have a loooooon way to go.Meanwhile our make a change pretenders like Jim Iyke, keep buttering their own bread while we stay in the queue waiting for the crumbs.
Jim Iyke is on another level when it comes to relating with high powers in other African country. The business oriented actor was at the 20th anniversary of Yahya Jammeh, today marks his 20th year as Gambia’s president.
