Senzo Meyiwa and his girl friend earlier today before he was shot! |
The South Africa and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa has been shot dead
in Johannesburg, police have reported on twitter.
The 27-year-old captained his club side in their 4-1 win against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday night, and was pictured looking happy with girlfriend Kelly Khumalo, a South African pop star, earlier on Sunday.Even though he was dating Kelly openly, Meyiwa was married. Until his death he was married to a lady named Mandisa Mkhize and they had two children. He also had a child with Kelly, a baby girl named Aphelele who was born this year.
But the South African police service broke normal protocol to tweet that Meyiwa, who has also led the Bafana Bafana in recent games, was killed on Sunday.
Iv'e just heard some updates on the death of Meyiwa.
Apparently,3 men had gone to his girl friends house, where Senzo Meyiwa was.Two men entered the house while one stayed outside. On entering the man robbed them of some posessions after demanding for their mobile phones.According to a friend of Meyiwa who was at the scene and inside the house,as the men were about to leave the house, they chased after them, and that was when one of them shot Meyiwa in the chest!
Very sad,but a very stupid way to die! Why chase after thieves who had guns over mobile phones? It's not worth it.Even if they ahd stolen £100,000.Leave them and let them go.You can make that money back but you can't get your life back. It's very sad indeed.I have heard of many people in the past, who were killed simply cos they refused to hand over possessions to thieves or struggle with them. Please don't ever do this, leave the bastards and let them go,most of them have taken some drugs of sort before they came out to rob and any little things trigger violence from them.
RIP Senzo Meyiwa
