Beautiful in blue: Maria retweeted this photo of herself, originally posted by an adoring fan
Mariah Carey has been criticised for her vocal performance following a concert in Japan on Saturday.
As 44-year-old singer,Mariah kicked off her Elusive Chanteuse World Tour in Tokyo last night, but it seems her energetic set didn't go down too well with some fans.
One Twitter user, Elle, wrote: 'It's a wrap for Mariah Carey's singing career. You're a legend. Time to retire. She can't sing anymore. At all. What happened?'
I have listened to the audio and watched the video as you can as well watch it here, and yea
Mariah did sound awful by her own standards, but the woman is human, she has just been through a terrible time in her personal life with her husband Nick Cannon, but i don't think it was that alone,i think she might have lost her voice due to illness or a bug,and when you are not feeling 100%,its very hard to hit those incredible Mariah Carey notes! I also think it's a combination of the bad sound and Mariah not being able to hear herself properly.I hope what ever "Miss Carey" is going through in her personal life is fixed as soon as possible.Mariah Carey deserves happiness, she has made millions of us happy and entertained us with her beautiful music and voice, can you imagine how many babies have been made to Mariah's music and how many people she has inspired with songs like Hero?

People always wants stars to fall after they have built them up high.
Not so well received: Mariah Carey has been criticised for her vocals following a concert in Japan on Saturday
As you can see by more tweets that were posted regarding the show.A user, who goes by handle Peaches & Herb, tweeted after seeing the video: ‘Y'all. Mariah Carey really can't sing anymore. That was hard to listen to.
‘I see why Mariah Carey never sings live anymore. That's why.’
She added: ‘Mariah Carey should've bowed out right when her voice was giving out. Save herself the embarrassment.
‘I knew it was something wrong with MC though. No artist lip syncs at EVERY show.’
The Hero hitmaker also appeared to struggle with her microphone when singing We Belong Together, with the butterfly decal detaching from the mic.
She attempted to continue uninterrupted with the song, though halted saying, 'Wait a minute. I can't go on.'
However, it seems some fans thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with Abby tweeting: 'I just had the absolute best time at @MariahCarey
Me.I am Jevi tweeted: 'A+mazing! And can't believe there were 23 songs! Looking forward seeing you at MY & SG!'
A representative for the star claims they've only received good reviews from people who attended the opening show.
A spokesperson said: ‘The comments we have heard from the fans have been great!’
Mariah's performance comes just weeks after she split from her husband Nick Cannon, whom she married in 2008 and has three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with.
The mother-of-two will tour through Asia in the month of October before heading to Australia and New Zealand.
Anticipation: The mother-of-two tweeted this image of the butterfly microphone she had a bit of trouble with on stage, prior to the show, with the caption, '30 minutes to showtime!!'
