Nicki Minaj sad about her high school turning her down from inspiring students. |
Heart broken Nicki Minaj sad about school's refusal to let her talk to students. |
happened to be a woman was not impressed by Nicki and thinks she is a bad role model.Do you think she was right to refuse Nicki Minaj the chance to speak to the students?
Personally though i see where the school and the principal were coming from,i would have gone about it in a different way.I would have called Nicki and told her,she must agree and know that her image, music and what she portrays was inadequate for these kids.I would then tell her,as long as she was gonna give an inspirational speech not necessarilly to do with just music or rap,but going for your dreams and ambitions and letting nothing stop you etc,i would also have told her to come in a respectable dress code.
All these might even make the students see Minaj in a different light and have more positive influence on them.
Whether the school likes it or not,all the students know Minaj and they knew she attended that school. So why not flip it to the schools advantage? By making Minaj seem like a rebel now, that might even have a negative effect, because with kids ,they will always go for the forbidden fruit.I hope they sort this out..Nicki Minaj can do more good than harm by addressing those students than keep her away from them ,when they probably all have her cd's or songs on their phones anyway!
UPDATES
Seems Nicki Minaj didn't tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth..The High School Nicki complained about has reacted to the complaints and apparently Minaj might have been doing this solely for publicity..here's how they reacted with a letter to the parents of the students.

Dear LaGuardia Community,
It has been brought to our attention that Nicki Minaj is attempting to generate publicity for herself by posting negative information about our principal, Dr. Lisa Mars, and LaGuardia Arts High School.
The fact is that Ms. Minaj was told by the NYC Department of Education (DOE) that she would not be allowed to enter the school with a television crew. The DOE has policies in place to protect the privacy and security of all its students. I’m sure we all appreciate the strict enforcement of these policies with regard to the safety of our children.
After reading this letter,Nicki Minaj should have mentioned the fact that they didn't want her to bring a television crew in.This obviously throws things in a different direction.
