Doctors Fears Joan Rivers could become a Vegetable or end up in wheelChair! |
The process to bring Joan Rovers out of her medically-induced coma, has started by Doctors, but there are fears she could be left as 'a vegetable' or 'needing a wheelchair'
as the battle to save her life continues.
The Doctors started the waking-up process on Sunday at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and will take it at a slow steady pace until Tuesday.
'We are keeping our fingers crossed,' her daughter, Melissa Rivers, said in a statement, thanking people who have expressed support for the 81-year-old comedian.
'There is real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair,' a source close to the family told the Daily News.
Joan River's Daughter Melissa, 46, released a statement on Sunday thanking everyone for their messages of support and gave a brief update on her mother's condition.
Joan Rivers, who hosts E!’s Fashion Police went into cardiac and respiratory arrest on Thursday morning while undergoing a procedure on her vocal cords at a private clinic on New York City's Upper East Side.
Doctors then put the Emmy-winner into a medically-induced coma to stabilize her vital signs and since then she has been breathing with the help of a life-support machine.
Sources told the Daily News that Rivers would not want to live unless she could enjoy 'a full and active life. ... (She) would never want to be a burden on anyone.'
That is not a surprise really.I can't imagine anyone who has a choice will want to be a burden on people.Especially someone of that age who has had a full fruitful life.Somehow i can't imagine Joan Rivers in a wheel chair not functioning and relying on others.Joan Rivers does not strike me as a patient person or someone who wants to have an easy life.I mean the woman is 81 and she still isn't slowing down!
I hope she survives her ordeal and comes out of her coma in one piece,so she can continue to irritate and annoy us for many more years to come.Oh, and entertain us as well!
