| Religious leaders in Liberia think Ebola is a plague from God for Homosexuality and immoral acts. |
Religious leaders in Liberia have blamed the Ebola virus disease on homosexual and other immoral acts.They believe it is a punishment from God for engaging in this acts.
According to reports from The Daily Observer, various church leaders from the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) reportedly attended a meeting on Wednesday to discuss a spiritual response to the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa.
“God is angry with Liberia”, said a leader at the meeting. And that is why Ebola was sent “as a plague” he added.
"Liberians have to pray and seek God's forgiveness over the corruption and immoral acts,such as homosexualism etc,that continue to plague the society.As Christians we must repent and seek God's forgiveness."
The Liberian council of Churches(LIC) also called for a 3 day fasting period of prayers and staying indoors by Liberians.
What i find hard to understand is,why would some people believe that God would decide to punish potentially a whole nation or more in this case cos Ebola virus disease could spread anywhere.All these ignorance should stop! It's the same way religious sects were saying Aids was a punishment by God to Gays! Well we have seen since then that aids have killed thousands and thousands of people who are not gay! These diseases are a thing that affects everybody universally and should be fought as one instead of trying to find a small group of individuals to blame or discriminate against.
