| Dr Stella Adadevoh deserves National award and recognition for saving Nigerian lives in Ebola Crisis. |
Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has said a lot of things and been an advocate on many issues recently.But i think this is a very important topic she has raised this time,i said the same in a recent article but didn't put it quite as decisively as Stella.
Dr Ameyo Adadevoh more or less gave her life to protect thousands of Nigerians.This
woman stopped Patrick Sawyer going to Cross Rivers State for a conference,even when he had been cleared from the top to make the trip.I can't just begin to imagine what damage Patrick Sawyer would have made if she hadn't been stopped by Patrick Sawyer.And many top government officials will be dead today as well.
Stella Damasus, asks the Federal Government as well as the Cross River State Government, the World Health Organisation and the United Nations to give a National Posthumous award in memory of the doctor.
On why is this important, she says, “Kind and beautiful Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh stood her ground to protect Nigeria. She refused to allow Mr. Patrick Sawyer (the Liberian-American infected with the Ebola Virus) leave First Consultant Hospital even when the Liberian Ambassador pressured her to release him.
Imagine what would have happened if she had let him go. Ebola would have been more widespread in Nigeria than what we are dealing with now. She died on the evening of the 19th of August 2014 and I strongly believe she deserves a National Posthumous Award.
If we don’t celebrate people like this who sacrifice their lives to save others then please tell me why any of us should do the same.

Nothing has ever been more aptly said.But will the powers that be do the right thing for Dr Stella Adadevoh?I haven't heard a single delegate who was at that Calabar conference say a thing about how his or her life was possibly saved by Dr Adaddevoh,they have no sense of empathy our so called leaders.They don't think deep or see past their noses.All they see are the dollar signs.Otherwise how could they not have seen how this lady prevented a possibly National epidemic?
