A Nigerian army spokesman had denied that the soldiers burnt BRT buses or vandalised them.He blamed it on the area boys.So what exactly will they area boys decide to burn buses for when they were in no way involved?Are the soldiers area boys or since when did area boys start fighting soldiers battles? Or are all the eye witnesses on twitter lying as well?
Also "a picture has surfaced of a female soldier destroying a BRT bus".I will like to hear what the spokesman has to say about that.The female soldier should be fished out and not only sacked
but jailed as well!
Maybe we should start a petition on that,but can this happen in Nigeria?
Speaking with Premium Times, the Nigerian Army spokesperson, Olajide Olaleye, had this to say about the attack and who was responsible:
"It’s not true that the soldiers destroyed buses or set any bus on fire. What happened was that a BRT bus knocked down a soldier and killed him. As usual in Lagos, area boys gathered and a few soldiers stopped at the scene as well. The GOC has dispatched military policemen to the scene to help restore law and order,” Mr. Olaleye said.
