Does anybody in Nigeria realize 9 of our students have been kidnapped in Ukraine and being held as hostages? Better still does our Government realize nine Nigerian students
have been kidnapped?NINE STUDENTS!! Must we always find out things about Nigeria in the foreign press?Any other civilized country, you would have had the President and Education Minister screaming at the top of their voices, but till i'm posting this,i haven't heard a word from the highest authority in Nigeria.
Nigerian lives has become a joke under this administration! It does not mean a thing and is worth nothing.I mean when terrorist kill our people and you hear our President say such things as "we will get over it" or it happens everywhere,i guess it's our turn now, then you realise we are truly in trouble! Nigeria has no voice,no leadership and no representative! This was the same way the government kept quiet about the kidnapped girls till the international community made a noise about it.Now we have 9 students kidnapped in another country ans it means nothing to our leaders, after all, they are only 9 students! I hope my people in Naija open their eyes during the elections next year and carefully choose who will fight for their rights and fight for a better life for Naija citizens and not vote cos a man comes from your town,is your religion or has a name you think is synonymous to good governance. All this ignorant and senseless attitudes is what is destroying Nigeria!
Meanwhile, here's the update about the 9 kidnapped Nigerian students-A Ukrainian official says negotiations are underway to free nine Nigerian students taken captive by separatists in the eastern city of Luhansk.
Colonel Andriy Lysenko, a spokesman for Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, told a news conference Wednesday that people with experience conducting negotiations were making contact with what he called "the terrorists."
He said Ukrainian officials hoped the talks would end "successfully in the near future."
Ukrainian news agencies say militants abducted the Nigerian students in Luhansk on Monday and have been holding them as prisoners at an occupied government security building.
The city is deep inside rebel-held territory, close to the Russian border.
Separatists seeking greater autonomy have been waging a bloody battle in eastern Ukraine against the government.
