- Tinubu no longer relevant in South West politics
- Tinubu is like an Iroko tree that cannot make a forest.
- People are not fooled anymore
Has Bola Tinubu lost relevance in South West politics? |
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu seems to have a lot of doubting Thomases on his case lately. The whispers are Tinubu is fast losing his relevance. Some will agree and some will beg to differ. The man Tinubu, has always attracted strong feelings among political observers and participants. The latest man who thinks Bola Tinubu has lost his relevance is a Lagos-based lawyer and activist, Mr. Fred Agbaje has said the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, is no longer relevant in the politics of the South-West. He said if he was still relevant, his party wouldn’t have lost the Ekiti elections to the PDP.
Mr. Agbaje made this known while speaking with aPunchng correspondent on Thursday.
He said “With the revelation coming from the South-West, the people are saying they are tired
of one man dictating the affairs of an entire region.
“People are not fooled anymore in this part of the country. They are no longer blind. Tinubu is like an iroko tree which cannot make a forest. People can no longer accept one person dictating the political and economic fortunes of this region.
“Nigerians need genuine leaders who place the interests of the people above their personal aggrandisement, especially in the aspect of parties imposing candidates on the electorate.”
But in a swift reaction, the special adviser to Tinubu on media, Mr. Sunday Dare, dismissed Mr. Agbaje’s thought as “illogical”, saying the outcome of one election wasn’t enough to determine the political relevance of Tinubu in South-West politics.
Also, Lai Mohammed, the APC Spokesman also dismissed Agbaje’s statement, saying Tinubu is still a relevant politician in the south-west.
He said “When elections like this come, many political scientists arise and say lots of things that are irrelevant.
“It is not true that Tinubu is no longer relevant. Ekiti election had nothing to do with him.”
Some are suggesting Bola Tinubu should hop on one of his private jets and forget about any "Bola Tinubu presidential ambitions" as well.I somehow think there's a lot of life left in Tinubu, the man is a fighter,he's not done yet with his ambitions.
