Vincent Enyeama-Africa's best player at the world cup. |
- Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama top goalkeeper at World cup in Brazil
Vincent Enyeama is having a fabulous world cup and long may it continue.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been ranked Africa’s best player at the on going World Cup held in Brazil. According to the official FIFA ranking system Canstrol Index as on June 23, the 31-year-old Nigerian goalkeeper Enyeama, occupied the fifth place among all the players, having been proceeded only by Karim Benzema (France), Robin Van Persie (Netherlands), Arjen Robben (Netherlands) and David Luiz (Brazil).
Newswire this concludes that Enyeama became best footballer among the African players of the Mundial. Which is none of the surprise after the Eagles’ shot-stopper had made several close-range saves during 1-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina, fifa.com provides. Although in
the today’s update (June 27) the correlation of points has changed, Enyeama still has the highest Castrol Index among the goalkeepers. It would be recalled that despite losing to Argentina 2-3 in the last group game, the Super Eagles qualified for the next round of the Mundial and will play against France on Monday, June 30.
Enyeama is a favourite of mine but i don't think he should be at the top of the African league in this current world cup.Not because he is not good enough, but because there has not been too many attacks on the Nigerian goal,Enyeama had one save against Iran,be it a very important one and one or two saves against Bosnia. He was busiest against Argentina, making a fantastic save against Messi.
But surely one outfield player must have a higher rating than Enyeama dont you think? How about Ayew of Ghana? Omeruo of Nigeria?
