Keshi is very stubborn so i think even if he had help,he will not totally use it except it's someone he can control..so i think all in all it is best for him to go and i shall tell you why exactly.
It has been said before by those in the know that Sylvanus Okpala, the ex Green Eagles defender for Nigeria, was the technical brains behind Keshi. He was the one with all the ideas and tactics..Well Sylvanus was sacked by the clueless NFF just after the victory of the Nations cup(Which country sacks the man who played an important part in winning a trophy?Nigeria of course!) And since then if you have followed Nigeria's results and games ,you will see the team has not been the same. The public and even Keshi appealed to the NFF several time to reinstall Sylvanus, even with Keshi telling them how he important he was to winning the cup,but the NFF refused..i won't even go into why in this article, but bet your ass its another corrupt undergoing by those in power.
Keshi has made some very strange decisions going to the world cup,the highest being the dropping of
Sunday Mba.I still can't believe that, and it was very apparent during the Iran game how much we missed that guy.Why dismantle the Nations cup team anyway? Keshi should have kept that team together and let them grown in confidence, maybe at most add 2 players to the starting line up.They won the cup only a year ago for Christs sake..it isn't as if it was 5 year ago and the players were now old.
Keshi replaced Moses with Ameobi in the Iran game..a mad decision if you asked me.The only player who could have brought what Moses gives to that team on the pitch was Osaze. But Keshi left Osaze on the bench when it was clear what we needed was a player who could create and break down the Iran defense. Ameobi was not that man.He left Musa who was terrible on the pitch and took off Moses.
Keshi then brings on Peter"Osaze"Odemwingie for the last 20 mins and Osaze was the best player when he came on..to be fair Ameobi tried as well.
Afterwards Keshi did not criticise a sinle player about the performance..he just said collectively the team were nervous etc.But as soon as a journalist praised Peter Odemwingie(Osaze)Keshi lost it and went on criticising the player..hear him :"The Osaze you are talking about didn’t do well. Osaze did not play to instructions and that affected the team."
Even JJ Okocha along with millions of Nigerian's agree that Osaze was a breath of fresh air when he came on..says JJ:“Keshi should be held responsible for the way the team played,” Okocha said. “Before the match Keshi said African teams are tactically not disciplined and he did not bring anything new to the table.
“Keshi's changes were poor. He took out Moses and brought in Ameobi. I think that was a wrong change.
“We saw how Osaze came in and showed a lot of creativity. That is the kind of thing we expected. Iran match would have been our strongest point but we missed it.” I rest my case on that subject.
What are you going to achieve by trying to kill your players confidence publicly? Keshi's problem is he doesn't wanna start Osaze in the next game and if he did then its like admitting he was wrong..selfishness and ego problems again. What kind of coach does this to a player publicly and expect that player to run through bricks for you? Assuming he is right and Osaze did not play to instruction, was he the only one who did not play well? Why not name the other players too and why not tell him this in the dressing room?
It is obvious that Keshi has not forgiven Osaze for whatever happened between them. It's as if Keshi does not want to see him succeed.Even during the friendlies he did not play Osaze for 90 mins ..it was always 30 or 40 mins. You would have thought he would give a player like Osaze who had not played for Nigeria a full game to gel into the team.
Keshi seems to have a problem with high profile players. The name Big Boss deceives him.He wants to be No1,well i am sorry it is not aout you.It is about the team and the players. You had your time and it is gone..the players are No1.
Keshi seems to prefer unknown players so he can do whatever he pleases with them.It is no coincidence that he had problems with Ukechkwu Uche,Yobo,Emenike,Odemwingie. All big name players.
Another thing i can't understand is why Keshi keeps sitting on that bench!! I can't understand it..No manager, even all the top managers in the world sits on the bench for 90 mins.Go and see all the top names..even Alex Ferguson in his 70s never sits for 90 mins.Mourinho,Guardiola,Wenger,Jurgen Klopp,Carlo Acelotti,Diego Simeone and on and on..All legends..top name managers ..they never sit for 90mins.When a manager gets up and players see him they put in that extra 10%..it also shows they are not doing something right..Osaze for example,if he was truly not playing to instructions, all it takes is one scream at him from the touchline, and he will fall into place. But Keshi chooses to sit down always like a pregnant woman..i don't get it.
If Keshi can not work with a top name technical adviser he should go now or be sacked,he has proven that he can't do it at the world stage on his own and his man management skills with players as well as tactical game plan is simply not good enough for this level.
I still hope we qualify and go past the next round ,which can still happen, but it won't change my mind about Keshi having to go..maybe if we win the cup Keshi can stay..just maybe..smiles
