| Uche,not wanted by Keshi |
I have said it a few times before on this medium,Keshi is in great danger of letting his arrogance,pride and ego ruin all the good work he has done lately.Keshi himself was not exactly Mr Obedience himself..since his St Finbarrs college days ,he has been used to being Captain,the main man and
controlling people.This has left no room for dialogue,compromise ,tact or understanding.You can't do this with footballers nowadays...He has dropped Uche who is the top scoring Nigerian striker in Europe.Not just in any country..but Spain's La liga.He also threatened to resign if he is forced to take Uche along to the world cup,because he says he is indisciplined tactically.For someone who lays in Spain ,i find that unbelievable.Anyway here's Uche's reaction.And from this,i am more convinced Uche is not the way he has been painted by Keshi.
Enstranged Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche has said that he was surprised by coach Stephen Keshi’s declaration that he was an undisciplined player hence he was dropped from his list of players for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Uche has not played for the Eagles since the 2013 Nations Cup where he was used sparringly by coach Keshi. And despite being the highest scoring Nigeria striker in the European League, Keshi has turned his back on the Villarreal of Spain player. He said his reason for not including Uche in his plans was because the player was badly behaved and he rarely played to instructions.
“I do not know the reasons for these statements. Actually I am very surprised. It’s very sad for me, but I will not get into this issue,” Uche said.
Also his club president Fernando Roig said that Keshi was not very correct with the statement on Uche.
Roig defended the player’s character and questioned the rationale of Keshi’s statements about the player whose form has been instrumental to the Yellow Submarines’ positive run this season.
“I think the coach of Nigeria is not talking about the same Uche playing on our team,” the Villarreal President said.
