an indisciplined player who wants to play Mr Big in the National team.Why are all my favourite strikers not going to Brazil?First Bright Dike who had a bad injury and had to be operated on,Osaze Odemwingie who will only make the list by a miracle and now Ikechukwu Uche.And it's not because all these guys are fine looking young men,before some of you start thinking i'm in love with these men(laughs)
Speaking further on the matter Keshi said:“Ikechukwu Uche is not a player I have not seen play. Ike Uche’s problem is not about not knowing how to play football. His problem is that he wants to dictate how we play in the Super Eagles; he wants to tell us that the system we’re playing is not good.

”Uche has a very bad habit; if you put him in a game, he will not play to instructions and he did that in the final of AFCON (South Africa 2013) against Burkina Faso; he almost cost us the game.
Again he did that against Zambia, in the second match when (Efe) Ambrose was given a red card. He was doing the opposite of what we told him to do.”
The situation is so bad according to a member of the NFF committee who said Keshi even threatened to resign if Uche is imposed on him... The member said that Keshi’s stance on Uche was a major issue when the list for the game against Mexico was released, but the coach has refused to give the player a second chance.
He said, “Of course we asked about Uche when we discussed the list with him. As you know, he had already travelled and so defended via a conference call . He said Uche was a big distraction to the team going by the player’s attitude. As a matter of fact, after much talk on the player, he concluded that Uche’s problem was such that both of them could not be on the same team and so he has to coach the team to Brazil without Uche. But if he must play, then somebody else has to coach the team. It is that bad.”

Now as much as i love Uche,i totally agree with Keshi that no player should be bigger than the team and every player should play according to the team manager's instruction.But on the flip side,surely a manager should be able to manage a player and use every trick or authority he has to get the play to do what he wants?
I'm sure Uche wants to play in the world cup..what if he is the final piece of the jig saw? If Mancini had not used Barlotelli for Man City because of all his problems would they have won the premier league? Uche had been one of the top scorers in Spain so far this season..and also he was the free scoring striker for the Super Eagles before Keshi came along.I think it would be a great shame both for the player and the National team if Uche does not go to the world cup..i hope the guy is given a 2nd chance and there can be a truce between Keshi and Uche.This is player management.
Eveything can't be so smooth..sometimes you have to earn your stripe and change a situation..its too easy to say you disobeyed me and i'm cutting you off..i like Keshi but the same thing happened with Osaze,Ihenachor of the u17 who should have played at the just concluded Chan2014 championships...Keshi is a guy i like and who has exceeded expectations...but he needs to learn how to be flexible and leave behind all that BIG BOSS ego..this is the National Team..not Keshi united!
