best supporting actress category to 23-year-old Jennifer Lawrence – who starred in American Hustle.
Fans of Nyong’o were outraged the actress didn’t win, with many feeling her gritty performance deserved an award.
Many well wishers commented on twitter that they expect the actress to win at next month’s Oscars.
