Sir Alex "Fergie"Ferguson will forever be in the history of MANCHESTER UTD as their greatest Manager ever.It doesn't matter if another guy comes in and wins the Champions League 4 times in a row.What Ferguson achieved and the foundations he built at that Club will forever make him Number 1.So this is why i am baffled that a man who spent 27 years of his life laying a foundation and building a magnificent Monument would now be responsible for slowly and systematically dismantling it! Because make no mistake that is what Sir Alex Ferguson is doing without him realising it.
Now lets break it down,There are probably 2 or 3 managers who can resist the job of Managing Manchester United in the whole world when called upon,Real Madrid,Barcelona and maybe currently
Bayern Munich.Every other Manager will give an arm and a leg to manage the Club...its in the Top 3 clubs in the whole world! So why would Ferguson when retiring,and make no mistake about it,he knew he was retiring.He didn't just wake up one morning and say "thats it,i'm off"! He is not a man who acts like that.He likes to plan.he is very thorough..so as i was saying why would a clever and smart man like Ferguson when retiring decide to give one of the 3 biggest jobs in football to a man who has never won a tea cup,has no idea of success and no ounce of charisma?I will tell you why..CONTROL!
I didn't wanna admit this for so long but it is so obvious now.Roy Keane is not a Saint,but he was absolutely right when he said the most important thing to Fergie was control,he also said that Alex Ferguson was not ready to relinquish that control yet.So how does he stay in control? Simple.Hire a man who jumps at his beck and call..a man who holds him in awe and would do anything Ferguson says...also a man who you know has not got half your managerial skills so he would still look up to you and run to you for all sorts of advice.THAT IS WHY SIR FERGIE HIRED DAVID MOYES.
It can also be argued that Ferguson knows Moyes will never surpass his achievements...Otherwise why not go for Mourinho? Or Pep Guardiola?Or the manager of Bourussia Dortmund?All this men were free and would jump at the chance of managing Man Utd.Pep Guardiola said in interviews he would love to manage Man United,he was free till Bayern spoke to him..Ferguson knew at the start of the season he was leaving so why didn't he speak to him? Mourinho also is an open secret when it comes to his ambition of managing Man Utd.There was even a rumour that he was distraught when he heard of Moyes appointment..and kept asking why would Fergie choose this guy who has won nothing?Can you imagine Ferguson trying to tell Mourinho or Pep what to do,which player to buy or choose? Impossible.So suggesting or appointing them would take control away from him.Another annoying thing is why didn't Ferguson insist that for a transistional period at least Moyes has to keep the backroom staff? So he can ease into the club and keep the engine running smoothly? Instead Moyes had to bring his croonies and Phil Neville along.Imagine Phil Neville coaching players at MAN UTD? Please wake me up from this bad dream!
One thing that annoys me and is such a myth is when people say oh its such a big job and any manager coming in would have struggled.Total crap! Any of the Top manager's coming in would have lit a cigar and excel in the job,Only the mediocre ones will struggle..this is a team that won the league with 11 points ,had an 11 goal difference to their nearest rivals Manchester City..were unlucky to lose to Real Madrid in the Champions league due to a controversial refereeing decision.The same team the year before lost the league on goal diffrence at the last minute of the campaign!How could these same players now be a laughing stock just a few months later?With a new manager? Its no co-incidence. So please don't tell me all that nonsense about the team was in decline.If the team was in decline what does it say of the other 19 teams in the Premiership?
People get so used to Man Utd winning that when they win its not special..oh, the other teams were terrible,oh, the standard has dropped blah blah.The manager simply is not good enough.Bayern Munich played incredible football last season and changed their manager,have u seen the standards slip? NO. When Bill Shankly left Liverpool,Bob Paisely came in..did the standards slip? NO.He only went ahead to win 3 European Cups! Martinez replaced Moyes at Everton,has the standards slipped? NO.Arsene Wenger took over from George Graham who had been at Arsenal for years and was pretty successful,did the standards drop?NO! Moyes was never known for playing the kind of football needed at Old Trafford..its was always boring one route football..We all know that.Martinez had no money at Wigan but played beautiful football,Laudrup has no money at Swansea but they played beautiful football..Gus Poyet at Brighton the same thing.You either have it or you haven't.Why would Ferguson ask Moyes to take over with his record? What could he have possibly seen? Is he a miracle worker? No..A miracle worker would have won the league or won a cup or two at Everton.That was what Ferguson did in Scotland when he broke Rangers and Celtic's domination.He also beat Real Madrid in Europe to win the European Cup of Winners.That was why he was appointed to Manage Manchester United.For him to have appointed a man who has not done this so he can control that man is Selfish,Egotistical,Cruel and a Stupid thing to do because he would end up undermining everything he had created himself.Moyes has no business managing Manchester United!
Yes United need a box to box midfielder and a holding midfielder but surely they have'nt become so bad that a team who won the title by 11 points less than a year ago with the SAME PLAYERS are a whipping boys for everyone..Everton,Swansea,WBA,Newcastle,all teams who haven't won at Old Trafford for centuries are now popping champagne at our expense! Some people said they relied on Van Persie that's why they won the league..what i say to that is he is a striker.Bought to score goals.he is doing his job.Why didn't he win the league with Arsenal if he is such a Messiah?There wouod always be a goal scorer at Old Trafford..they come and they go...George Best,Andy Cole,Van Nistlerooy,Roanldo.There is always a next one.
Moyes from the start was a disaster.I can't understand how a new manager would come into a new team..a team who are the defending Champions and you come out with trash like,the team were not so great when they won the league,it was more the other teams not playing well.You say this and you expect the same boys to run that extra mile for you? I also remember him saying we cant win the champions league because you need 3 or 5 world class players.How many time has he been to the Champions league himself? So you tell your boys they are not good enough and you think those same boys will win games for you? Zaha was the best player in preseason.So why on earth won't you give him a chance when you keep playing Young,Nani and Fellaini who were not providing the goods? It's just incredible how that man Moyes operates.
Manchester United should not be afraid of nobody so imaging my utter dismay at the start of the season when this man was protesting that our fixtures where too hard they must have been rigged! This coming from the manager of the Champions.What kind of message does that send? Even if you feel that way should you make it public? What happened to "oh,i love our fixtures,we can beat our rivals and make a good start" This same man was at Old Trafford,we were playing against Stoke or Southampton,can't remember who now,and he took off Wayne Rooney in the dying minutes to bring on a defender!!!!! At Old Trafford? Needless to say we ended up conceding a goal. Knowing Man Utd they can still go ahead this season and do something crazy like winning the Champions League or come 2nd in the Premiership.But i don't care,enough is enough.End of the season Moyes should GO..JUST GO...YOU ARE WAY BEYOND YOUR STATION.And to Sir Alex,pls stay out of the appointment of the next Manager.What the hell were the board thinking allowing a manager to appoint another one? THE REDS GO MARCHING ON!
