Don Jazzy and Olamide really tore up the 2015 Headies awards and started the year with a bang!!! If any other beef this year comes as close as this,it will be a great surprise.Olamide took to Twitter to rip into Don Jazzy after a clash at the Headies awards tonight. So here's what happened. Reekado Banks, who is under Mavin Records beat the likes of Lil Kesh, Korede Bello, Cynthia Morgan and Kiss Daniel to win The Next Rated Award for 2015.This obviously didn't go down well with Olamide and he made his feelings very clear when he climbed the stage with the whole YBNL team, when his artist Adekunle Gold won the award for Best Alternative act for his song, Shade.See all the drama/video of the Olamide and Don Jazzy beef after the cut.
Personally i think the ridiculous awards committee of the headies were trying to play that silly credibility and good music card.They probably though Lil Kesh was too street with his vulgar lyrics and decided to give the award to the cleaner and wholesome Reekado.It was a ridiculous decision.What is this? The headies or the Gospel awards?SMH.Lil Kesh or Korede Bello should have won the award,full stop!
While expressing his appreciation, LilKesh prostrated before Olamide who then took the mic and said; "This award belongs to Lil Kesh. Lil Kesh is our own Next Rated artist. F**k that shit! The streets ti take over. Every f**king single was a hit back to back. From lyrically to Shoki to Efejoku. Ko ni dafun Iya anybody", he then threw the mic down and they all walked off the stage.After Olamide's speech, Don Jazzy won The lifetime Achievement Award & while taking his award, he addressed Olamide's rant on stage. He said "Egbon Olamide, if you want the car, come and take it." (Next Rated win comes with a car).Olamide went nuts after this and came for Don Jazzy on Twitter.He called JAZZY all sorts of names and even accused him of getting other producers to produce songs while he puts his name on it and takes credit.He also called out Jazzy on how he had destroyed D'banj's career and tried to do the same to Wande Coal too..Oh by the way,Wande seemed to take sides when he swiftly followed Olamide right after the ranting and the awards show,lol. I don't think there has ever been an award show like this in Nigeria in terms of the controversy.I am sure we have not heard the last of the Olamide and Don Jazzy beef.If Kiss Daniel or Korede Bello had won the award,i am sure there would not have been none of this wahala.I am 100% sure that the organizers got this one wrong.
On a lighter note,can you imagine how the other stars who won an award on the nights feels now? Their moment of glory has been totally overshadowed by this silly beef between Don Jazy and Olamide.
