Delegates at the Nigeria National conference, all i see is old people.Where are the Youths? The leaders of tomorrow? |
The delegates at the ongoing Nigeria National conference have recommended 18 more states be added to Nigeria taking us to 54 states in total and the Nigeria National Anthem changed back to the old one"Nigeria we hail thee".We must think we are the United States of America with all these states.Next notion is United States of Nigeria as our new name.
It was suggested the 18 states be evenly distributed among the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, so that none of the zones will have more states than others.
It was also recommended that the Presidency should rotate among the six geopolitical zones of the nation, and that the rotation should occur between the southern and northern regions.
It just shows how out of touch these old men are. What has changing the National anthem got to do with the situation Nigeria is in? Is the National anthem gonna create jobs, stop terrorism, fix our roads, sort out the health structure, stop corruption, ensure constant power supply?I can go
on and on.For them to even think about this suggestion now shows these guys are clueless!
As per the creation of more states,i am a bit unsure about their intentions. It may be their usual way of spreading their greed.Create more states and get more allocations, becoming bosses in their own little world. At the same time, having more states and things being on a lower scale might make the states more manageable .Time will tell, but on one thing i can tell about these National anthem changing and more states lot is they have no clue or no interest of Nigeria at heart!
Oh,one good thing they did suggest was all Government officials must use made in Nigeria vehicles. That i commend them for.
The new states proposed are:
Ijebu, from Ogun State; Aba, to be carved out of the current Abia State; Katagum, from Bauchi State; Amana, from former Sardauna Province; Apa, from Benue State; Anioma, from Delta State, Savannah, from Borno State; and Etiti, from South-East.Njaba/Anim, from Anambra and Imo states; Gurara, from Kaduna State; Ghari, from Kano State; Adada, New Oyo from Oyo State; Orachi, from Rivers State; Ogoja, from Cross River State; and Kainji, from Kebbi and Niger states.
