Did you know David Alaba who is the son of a Nigerian father was of mixed parentage? I never did.I don't think i have ever seen a mixed race person so dark! His father has extreme genes..totally dominated the mother(smiles) His mother is Filipino and she was a beauty queen in her younger days.

Friendships
Alaba has developed a close personal and professional relationship with team-mate Franck Ribery (l.) The pair have an excellent understanding of one another's game and frequently cite the other as an influence on their own improvement. Ribery says of the youngster, "He's a really good kid and I'm happy that such a great player is in our team." And Alaba is full of equal praise for the Frenchman: "We get on really well with each other. He's a joker sometimes, but he can really play."
Roots
Alaba was born in Vienna on 24 June 1992. Until the age of ten he played for SV Aspern in Donaustadt, the district of the Austrian capital where he grew up. His father George recognised his talent quickly, however, and arranged for him to transfer to the local powerhouse FK Austria Vienna, whose academy he joined in 2002.
He had only played a handful of games for the Viennese side's reserve team, but FC Bayern were quick to spot Alaba's potential and signed him up at the age of 16 in the summer of 2008. In the 2009-10 season he was rewarded with a first-team debut in the DFB Cup in February. Coach Louis van Gaal declined to play him in central midfield, where the young Alaba preferred, saying, "He is a left-back, even he doesn't know it himself yet."
Keen to expose him to more Bundesliga action, Bayern agreed to let Alaba go out on loan in the 2010/11 season, and he duly joined up with 1899 Hoffenheim. He was an instant success for the Sinsheim outfit, scoring twice in 19 games and he would undoubtedly have played more were it not for an ankle injury.
Breakthrough
He returned to Bayern older, wiser and more experienced, claiming the left-back position as his own in the 2011/12 season. Success eluded Bayern as they missed out on three trophies, with Alaba missing the UEFA Champions League final on home soil through suspension, but that pain was erased this campaign as he overcame an early season injury to help Bayern to an historic treble.
International
Even at his young age, Alaba is well on his way to becoming a legend of the Austrian national team. He already has 25 caps to his name, and four goals, including one in the recent World Cup qualifying victory over Sweden. He made his senior debut, as his country's youngest-ever player, against France in a friendly in October 2009.
Alaba has developed something of a reputation for taking - and scoring - penalties. His calmness in pressure-cooker situations was first evident in last season's Champions league semi-final against Real Madrid CF, when he scored in Bayern's shoot-out win in the Estadio Bernabeu. He converted a further two for the Reds this season, as well as one for Austria against Sweden in World Cup qualifying.

Alaba was born to a Nigerian father, George (l.) and Filipina mother, Gina (r.). George is quite famous in Austria in his own right in the field of music. A rapper and DJ, he is best remembered as part of the dance duo 'Two in One.' Gina, a nurse, is also a former Philippines beauty queen.
Personal
Alaba has been dating Katja Butylina, a handball player for the Austrian national team, for over a year. Katja is one year younger than David and on a similar path to stardom, rated as one of Austria's best up-and-coming handball stars. Perhaps a future together may have been on the Bayern star's mind when he bought a penthouse apartment in Vienna recently.
Records
Alaba's path to glory has been meteoric to say the least. Aged 14, he was picked to the play for the Austria under-19 side; aged 15 he was named in the first-team squad of Austria Vienna; at the age of just 17 years and 232 days he became the youngest player to debut for the senior FC Bayern side; and he also became the youngest player to represent Austria at senior level when he made his debut at 17 in October 2009, four months before he made his professional club debut.
